Description

Late 18th/early 19th century. Irregularly-shaped walled garden; overall rectangular-plan with curved sections of wall to S and E. Coursed sandstone rubble with squared stugged sandstone coping. Entrances to SE and (larger) to W. 20th century lean-to greenhouse to N wall.

Statement of Interest

A compact intact late 18th/early 19th century walled garden, built for the adjacent manse. According to 'The Statistical Account' the manse was built in 1789. The walled garden may be contemporary or slightly later.
