City Architects Department (E J MacRae, City Architect), designed late 1930s. Standard Edinburgh police box. 2 x single-bay rectangular-plan (6ft x 4ft) cast-iron box sited at SE end of Murrayfield Ave. Pilastered long elevations, entrance elevation to W on LHS of street, with corniced door to right bearing city arms; 2 small corniced doors to left. Single bay short elevations surmounted by open pediments containing ribboned wreath decoration. Saltaire patterned glazing to all elevations. Felt-covered roof with UKWMO siren.
A Rollo and J A Tweedie assisted in the design.
