Description

Dated 1870. 2-storey, 3-bay, L-plan, bow fronted, gabled, corner tenement with shops to ground. Yellow ashlar sandstone. Moulded dividing band between stories, projecting eaves course cornice. Cavetto moulded margins and consoled cills to upper storey windows.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3-bay, bowed. Modern shop fronts to ground, regular fenestration to 1st floor. Battered wallhead stack on plinth to right, dated 1870. Double bay to outer left, blocked quoins flanking 4-light, semicircular-arched window with pilastered stone mullions.

NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: 3-bay, modern shop fronts to ground, regular fenestration to upper storey.

NW (SIDE) ELEVATION: obscured by abutting building

SW (SIDE) ELEVATION: blind end wall.

4-pane, timber sash and case windows. Grey slates, lead flashing, cast-iron rainwater goods. Broad, coped gable stacks.

INTERIORS: modern shop fittings to ground. Upper storey not seen 2001.
