Formerly two houses with that nearest the footpath to the SE belonging to the Factor to the Commissioners of Crieff whose tasks included collection of dues from the cattle drovers. After the failed Jacobite rebellion, the Drummonds forfeited their lands to the crown, this area formerly being their property. The area was known as The Feus, then New Street, only later becoming Commissioner Street. During internal renovation, the current owners discovered that the roof timbers are fixed with oak pegs. The street level is now (2001) approximately two feet higher than the entrance to the house.
