Description

Earlier 19th century probably incorporating earlier fabric, altered. Small courtyard steading with fine outward facing cartshed and granary with integral henhouse. Coursed and random rubble with dressed ashlar and squared rubble margins. Voussoirs. Slated roofs.

W (CARTSHED AND GRANARY) RANGE:

W ELEVATION: 5 segmental-headed cart arches with squat dividing piers, small square opening to outer left and slope of henhouse roof to outer right; 5 granary openings above.

E (COURTYARD) ELEVATION: door to left with 3 granary openings above, lean-to henhouse to outer left with door below blocked high level entry and stone ledge. N range adjoining at outer right.

S ELEVATION: gable end with full-width projecting lean-to henhouse, small segmental-headed (kennel?) opening close to ground at right.

INTERIOR: henhouse lined with brick and stone nesting boxes.

E (STABLES) RANGE: lower piended bay to S with rounded angles. Variety of stable and pedestrian door and window openings to E and W. N elevation opening enlarged for modern machinery access.

INTERIOR: cobbled setts to stable floor.

N (IMPLEMENT SHED) RANGE: openings blocked to each elevation, large 2-leaf sliding door to S. Overlapping slates.
