Earlier 20th century. 2-storey, 5-bay, rectangular-plan former library converted to 4 flatted dwellings, with half-timbered gablehead in irregular terrace to E. Polychrome brick with raised ashlar margins to ground N. Part 1st floor cill course. Tabbed and shouldered doorpiece; round-headed windows with bracketted cills. Stone mullions.
SE (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Slightly advanced gable to centre bay with 2-leaf panelled timber door, shaped plate glass fanlight and flanking narrow lights with moulded roundels over, 1st floor cill course giving way to 2 windows and jettied half-timbered gablehead with decorative cast-iron finial. Flanking bays identical, each with round-headed bipartite at ground giving way to blind roundel and single window to 1st floor.
SW ELEVATION: gabled elevation with small window to outer left at each floor.
NW (REAR) ELEVATION: asymmetrical elevation with 3 small windows to ground and forestair from right leading to 2 modern doors at 1st floor with further small window to outer left.
4-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows to N (except 3 bays to left at 1st floor), modern glazing elsewhere. Grey slates. Coped polychrome brick stacks with full-complement of cans, some polygonal and deeply overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding; cast-iron downpipes with decorative rainwater hoppers.
