Clerk of Works, Commercial Bank of Scotland, 1907. 2-storey, 5-bay, asymmetrical, gabled, rectangular-plan, bank, Scottish Renaissance style. Turret to right. Yellow ashlar sandstone, tooled sandstone to sides and rear. Base course, cavetto moulded cornice to ground floor, cill band to 1st floor, projecting eaves course.
SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: asymmetrical, decorative panel above window to right at ground; tripartite doorway to outer left, timber door to centre, flanking windows, decorative panel above with projecting pediment; turret to outer right, roll-moulded corbel, continuous stugged hoodmould as base course to 2nd stage, corbelled projecting pilasters terminating in corbelled cornice, conical roof with cast-iron decorative finial.
NE (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 2000
SE (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.
NW (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.
Timber frame combination windows to ground; timber frame sash and case windows to 1st floor, upper part 6-pane, lower half single pane. Grey slate, lead flashing, coped skews and stacks.
INTERIOR: modern.
A new principal elevation and the turret was added to an existing CBS in 1907. The gables and rear of the building being of earlier late nineteenth century build.
