Later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, near rectangular-plan house with forestair to outer left. Coursed sandstone. Base course; 1st floor cill course; eaves course; cornice; blocking course; strip margins. Painted architraved margins to window openings; cill blocks to ground floor.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central pilastered, corniced, block-pedimented doorpiece; 2-leaf timber door; fanlight; single window aligned above at 1st floor. Flanking bipartite windows at ground and 1st floors. Railed steps lead to recessed entrance to No 6; corniced and block-pedimented doorpiece; 2-leaf timber door.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows (4-pane to central 1st floor window). Grey slate roof; stone skews; coped stacks; circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
RAILINGS: painted Fleur-de-lis railings surmount ashlar copes to steps to No 6.
Using the earlier adjacent 2 Queen's Terrace and 18 Bath Place as an architectural example, Nos 4 and 6 shares mutual base, eaves, cornice and blocking courses. An obvious later detail to Nos 4 and 6 is the use of bipartite windows.
