Description

Circa 1820. 5-storey and basement 9-bay tenement block. Droved ashlar to ground, rubble to floors above, basement, side and rear. Dividing band between ground and 1st floors; cill course at 4th floor. Regularly fenestrated. Right bay blind. Timber panelled doors with 3-pane fanlights.

12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Stone skews. Corniced stacks at ridge (1 at wallhead) with circular cans.

TERRACE AND RAILINGS: cast-iron pillars support terrace at ground floor. Fleur-de-lys and pine-cone cast-iron railings to terrace and steps.

Statement of Interest

B group comprises Nos 21-37 Lauriston Place, 1-3 Lauriston Terrace and 1-11 Archibald Place, which were restored (including removal of shops) in 1992 by the Lister Housing Co-operative, and opened by Ronnie Browne, 6th November 1992.
