Description

1849 for Stirling and Dunfermline Railway. 8-span former railway viaduct. Coursed rockfaced sandstone with droved ashlar dressings. Segmental-headed arches with impost bands and ashlar voussoirs/soffits. Band course above arches; walls coped. Wide pilaster strips to either side of narrower (almost round-arched) flanking outer arches. Some parts of upper section of wall replaced in brick.

Statement of Interest

Substantial early railway viaduct no longer in use.
