Statement of Interest

When Nos 111-119 Great Southern Road were designed the road was then Whinhill Road, hence the address on the plans. George Sutherland (1861-1927), was a pupil of Pirie and Clyne, and also Ellis and Wilson, both of which were prestigious Aberdeen architectural partnerships. Despite alterations to the glazing patterns of 111-119 Great Southern Road, the terrace has particularly fine doorways and is of good, generally little-altered, composition.
