1733. Near rectangular-plan walled garden on sloping site (approximately 6300m?). Coped red brick wall encloses site; NE wall designed as a 'hot wall'; glasshouses (mostly demolished, some modern replacements) built against NE wall in the mid 19th century. Timber doors to all entrances (iron gate to SW elevation). Range of lean-to storage sheds to outer NE wall; stepped terracing to outer SW wall; ball finials (many broken or missing) to piers.
Stands adjacent to Canal Cottage (see separate list description). The garden is particularly noticeable for its distinctive 'hot walls' (flues from a boiler ran between 2 skins of wall and the warmth protected fruit and plants from early frosts) and the stepped terracing to the outer SW wall is of particular quality.
