Earlier to mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan house set at angle, forming end of terrace. Whitewashed harl; sandstone ashlar dressings. Eaves course; flush cills.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber panelled door with integral 3-pane fanlight centred at ground. Gabled porch projecting to front with squat, bulbous, square-plan columns flanking entrance on coped front wall; engaged columns set behind; small window aligned at 1st floor. Single windows at ground in bays flanking entrance; pointed-arched, ashlar dormerheads to single windows breaking eaves above. Single storey projection to left. Separate property set at right angles to outer left with square-headed pend at ground.
W (SIDE) ELEVATION: gable end with canted window at ground off-set to left of centre; single window aligned at 1st floor.
S (REAR) ELEVATION: principal block with canted window at ground off-set to right of centre; single window off-set to right above. Gabled projection to outer right with square window at ground off-set to left.
Predominantly lying-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows; 8-pane glazing to canted windows; square window centred at 1st floor to front with round-arched tripartite glazing; octagonal window in square opening to rear; modern rooflight. Grey slate roof; terracotta ridge tiling; stone-coped skews. Red tile roofs to canted windows and porch. Prominent sandstone cornices to whitewashed ridge and apex stacks; circular terracotta cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATE: low coped whitewashed walls partially enclosing site. Decorative iron pedestrian gate to front.
An unusually-detailed house set at the foot of Coldingham's High Street. The bulbous-columned porch and sandstone dormerheads give the property distinctive character. Empty 1999.
