Possibly 1836. Entrance to Edrington House comprising coped and coursed sandstone quadrant walls. Square-plan, coursed sandstone, corniced gatepiers with tiered caps and ball finials with strapwork; W pier inscribed '1836' to front (upside-down). 2-leaf decorative iron gates.
B Group comprises 'Edrington House', 'Edrington House, Lodge', 'Edrington House, Quadrant Walls, Gatepiers & Gates' and 'Edrington House, Walled Garden' - see separate list entries. A well-detailed entrance set to the NE of and still associated with Edrington House. The upside-down dated stone is most unusual and may derive from elsewhere.
