Early 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay, rectangular-plan traditional house with later additions and alterations. Tooled course yellow sandstone with droved dressings. Base course; projecting cills; long and short quoins.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical; flat-roofed, glazed timber late 19th century porch to centre of ground floor with panelled timber door to right return; windows to each flanking bay. Regular fenestration to 1st floor, centre bay slightly advanced.
E ELEVATION: asymmetrical; window to right of ground floor; window off-centre to right of 1st floor.
N ELEVATION: modern addition advanced to centre, 3 skylights to attic.
W ELEVATION: not seen 1998.
Replacement 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof. Coped stone skews. Coped sandstone gablehead stacks with octagonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
ANCILLARY STRUCTURES, WALLED GARDEN, GATES, GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: single storey, random rubble and brick outbuildings with irregularly placed boarded timber doors and windows. Later 19th century red brick walled garden to NW of house with flat stone coping; low yellow and red brick wall with decorative ironwork railings to SE corner of garden; remains of 2 lean-to greenhouses to N. 2nd chamber of walled garden to NE of house with rubble wall to E and brick wall to remainder; irregularly placed boarded timber doors. Polished stone panelled gatepiers to S of house with pyramidal caps; 2-leaf decorative ironwork gates. Random rubble boundary walls with rubble coping.
