Earlier 19th century. Former West Gate to Wemyss Castle, with gatepiers and quadrant walls. Square-section ashlar gatepiers with cornice and flat cope, flanked by curved ashlar-coped sandstone rubble walls and outer piers.
Property of Wemyss Estate Trustees. The 1st OS shows a lodge house (no longer evident) at the West Gate.
