Early 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan symmetrical house with lower 4-bay asymmetrical piended block to left (S) forming part of small terrace to W of School Place, built on ground rising to S. Harled. 1st floor window set close under eaves.
E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3-bay symmetrical block: deep-set modern timber-panelled door at ground in bay to centre; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in each bay flanking. 4-bay asymmetrical block: window at ground in 2 bays to centre. Window at each floor in bay to outer right. Deep-set door in bay to outer left.
N (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining Number 7.
2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone ridge; harled, corniced gablehead stacks; predominantly cast-iron rainwater goods.
Features of interest to note here include the retention of broad chimney stacks and deep-set openings.
