Description

Mid to later 19th century. 2-storey and attic, 4-bay mirrored pair of houses forming part of wider terrace. Sandstone ashlar, painted to right. Base course, band course between floors, corniced cill band at 1st floor, round-arched windows at 1st floor, corniced eaves course and blocking course; 4-light canted outer bays to ground and 1st floors with decorative impost carving at springing line to 1st floor, capitals of cast-iron colonette-mullions to centre at ground and 1st floors.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: timber panelled doors with fanlights in mirrored corniced, architraved doorpieces with carved consoles. Windows in 4-light canted bays to left and right, regular fenestration in round-arched openings above. 2 box dormers to centre, bipartite box dormers to left and right, all segmental-headed.

Timber sash and case with plate glass glazing, grey slates, gablehead stacks with terracotta cans, skews.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low ashlar coped boundary walls
