Description

William Burn, 1823-1852. 3-storey and basement, 5-bay terraced classical corner tenement terminating lower crescent. Sandstone ashlar with channelled rustication at ground. Base course, band course between ground and 1st floors, architraved windows to 1st floor with recessed cills, cill band at 2nd floor, cornice and blocking course, ashlar steps and entrance platts oversailing basement.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: timber panelled door with fanlight to centre, windows to remaining bays with regular fenestration above, taller windows to 1st floor.

E (EAST CLAREMONT STREET) ELEVATION: 3-bay. Timber panelled door to centre with blocked fanlight, windows to each floor above, outer bays blinded for symmetry.

Timber sash and case windows with 4-pane and plate glass glazing, grey slates, gablehead stacks with terracotta cans, fleur-de-lys finialled cast-iron railings.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
