Circa 1930, incorporating parapets of 1811. Arched, single span road bridge over River South Esk. Coped re inforced concrete arch ring; concrete stanchions supporting deck and coped, bull faced, squared and snecked sandstone parapet with polished, coursed sandstone refuges. Tooled panel to inside of E parapet reading "Erected by ROBERT DUNDAS OF ARNISTON Chief Baron of the Exchequer A.D. 1811".
Extremely good example of 1930's re inforced concrete bridge engineering. The original Braidwood Bridge substructure, built by Robert Dundas, is now at Carrington Mill.
