Description

Late 18th to early 19th century. Single storey, rectangular-plan piend-roofed workshop. Coursed rubble.

SE ELEVATION: broad, full-height, 2-leaf timber cart/machinery door to left of centre with 6-part horizontally aligned and vertically astragalled window to outer left with timber apron blocking further former cart/machinery door; further window just to right of centre blocking former door and traditionally lettered timber fascia board with 'KENNETH HANTON' close to eaves at outer right.

6- and 8-pane glazing patterns in fixed timber windows. Timber lintels to openings. Angus stone slates.

Statement of Interest

Property of Strathmore Estates (Holding) Ltd. This is a fine example of an outbuilding/cottage industry type evidently once prolific in Glamis village.
