Description

Earlier 19th century with later alterations. Symmetrical 2 storey, 3 bay house forming part of irregular terrace. Harl-pointed rubble; droved sandstone dressings. Sandstone quoins; long and short sandstone surrounds to openings; flush cills.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: part-glazed boarded timber door centred at ground; carved floral motif above; single window aligned at 1st floor. Single windows at both floors in flanking bays.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 1997.

4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows; single rooflight to front. Grey slate roof; cast-iron rainwater goods. Brick built apex stacks to NE and SW; various circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

PAVEMENT: cobbled path to front of house forming part of continuous stretch to front of terrace.

Statement of Interest

B Group with remaining houses in row (with the exception of Poltarie). One of the most prominent houses in this irregular terrace, the Honey House has retained some good details. A picturesque group of buildings, The Row stands at the centre of Longformacus village, overlooking the Dye Water.
