Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. Single storey, L-plan gabled cottage with deeply overhanging eaves forming U-plan with L-plan outbuildings adjoining to rear. Snecked rubble with dressed ashlar quoins. Chamfered arrises and stone mullions.

S ELEVATION: advanced gable to left of centre with canted quadripartite window, and bipartite window in bay to right (centre bay not visible from viewing point).

W ELEVATION: blank bay to right of centre, gabled bay with bipartite window to left; boundary wall with gatepiers (see below) abutting to outer left.

N ELEVATION: narrow window to left, slightly lower wing (with part-glazed timber door and window to W projecting to outer left.

E ELEVATION: gabled bay to left with lower wing to right.

Small-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case window to N, out-of-character uPVC glazing elsewhere. Grey slates. Paired polygonal stone stacks on coped ashlar base. Deeply overhanging decorative bracketed eaves.

OUTBUILDING AND GATEPIERS: small courtyard to N with L-plan outbuilding adjoining house. Square section ashlar gatepiers with cushion capitals.
