Description

Earlier 19th century with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical plain classical rectangular-plan house, sharing quay with No 132. Cement-rendered and lined.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set timber panelled door at ground in bay to centre; blocked window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in bays flanking.

E (SEAWARD) ELEVATION: 2-bay gabled elevation. Window at ground to right. Window at 1st floor to left. Gablehead stack above.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Modern asbestos tiles; stone ridge; concrete skews; cement-rendered and lined, corniced gablehead stacks, (W stack painted); thackstanes to E stack; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.

QUAY: Caithness flagstones to yard around house; rubble wall along S border of rectangular-plan rubble quay (now grassed), projecting to E.

Statement of Interest

A raggle on the E elevation shows the existence of a previous monopitch addition; it also reveals, beneath the cement render, the original harl-pointed rubble finish of the building.
