Description

Mid 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric. 2-storey and attic, 5-bay (grouped 3-2), mid terrace pair of houses. Squared and snecked sandstone, ashlar dressings, base course, eaves band, cornice.

NE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: asymmetrical. Door to No 51 recessed in pilastered and corniced doorpiece to right with 3-pane, letterbox fanlight. Centre bay with window to each floor. Bay to outer left similarly fenestrated. No 53 with door to right bay, small-pane letterbox fanlight, blank above, window to each floor in bay to left.

18-pane timber sash and case windows. 6-pane windows to piend-roofed, slate-hung dormers. Dark grey slates, coped skews, rubble stack to centre, ashlar to right, large brick stack to left on party wall with No 49.
