Description

Tapered square pylon constructed from triangulated galvanised steel, tapered in turn at corners to legs bolted to concrete pads. Rectangular galvanised steel casing to generator with hub projecting from end supporting 3 turbine blades, cable stayed at front and rear. Secondary turbine blades to each side of casing.

Statement of Interest

This was Britain's first commercial wind generator, and was built to supplement the island's diesel powered electricity supply.
