Description

Later 19th century; later alterations and additions. 2-storey, 3-bay,

T plan classical house with 2-storey, 2-bay wing to rear; single storey, single bay garage addition to rear. Grey sandstone ashlar (rendered garage addition) with polished dressings. Base course; consoled and corniced cills to windows; eaves course; deep overhanging eaves.

NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: raised Gibbsian doorpiece at ground in bay to centre; 4-panelled timber door; window at 1st floor above. Window at each floor in flanking bays.

SW (SIDE) ELEVATION: irregular, 4-bay, grouped 1-2-1. 2-bay addition, set back to centre: boarded door set wide at ground in bay to left with (replacement) window flanking to left; window to 1st floor above. Window at ground in bay to left; small window at 1st floor above. Boarded door to rendered single storey addition to outer left. Window set wide to left at ground in bay to outer left, (original side of house).

NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: irregular 5-bay, grouped 1-2-2. 2-bay addition set back to centre: modern lean-to conservatory spanning both bays at ground; window at 1st floor in bay to left; small window at 1st floor in bay to right. Single bay garage addition, set back to outer left: modern garage door. 2-bay original side of house to right: Window at each floor in bay to outer right; window at ground in bay to left.

6-pane timber sash and case windows; fixed 4-pane small windows to rear addition; modern large pane windows to ground of rear addition. Grey slate piended roof; purple slate to addition and garage; ashlar coped stack to SW and NE; cast-iron rainwater goods.
