Mid to later 19th century; cottage 18th century. 3-storey with attic, 4-bay above ground, terraced tenement. Polished ashlar, harled to rear. Ground floor band course (see Notes) and eaves course. Shouldered opening to ground right, stop-chamfered arrises.
S (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: 2-leaf, part-glazed timber door with plate glass fanlight at centre and windows in flanking bays, timber door with 4-pane fanlight to outer right and part-glazed timber door with 4-pane fanlight to outer left. 4 regular bays each to 1st and 2nd floors, and 2 piended dormer windows above.
N ELEVATION: variety of elements including tall, round stair tower to centre and slate hung piended dormer windows over outer bays.
12-pane glazing pattern to 2nd floor and plate glass to 1st floor and dormers, all in timber sash and case windows; top-opening windows to ground. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks and ashlar coped skews.
COTTAGE TO REAR: 2-storey cottage (see Notes) harled with slate roof, modern door and windows.
BOUNDARY WALLS: coped rubble boundary walls.
Before modernisation probably with laigh floor and forestair similar to outbuildings at Nos 465-467 (Malcolm's House) and 475-479 (both listed separately), the cottage faces the original High Street route, on a course from Malcolm's Wynd to the W. Lettering visible on the band course of Nos 475-479 reads 'LONDON & KIRKCALDY SHIPPERS'.
