Description

Circa 1874, James Maitland Wardop. L-plan steading, NW of service court of house (originally linked to now mostly demolished kitchen court). Single-storey and attic, with 2-storey house, centre (originally harness room at ground, groom's accommodation above). Plain Jacobethan-style with corniced gablets at dormer-headed windows; slated roofs; bull-faced rubble.

Altered, with modern glazing throughout. Stables range to left (W) retains louvred hayloft doors at E and W elevations and louvred axial ventilators (that to N damaged). Groom's house (with centre ridge stack) altered with modern door and glazing, front and rear; lean-to's on rear (N) elevations original. Single-storey E range has modern conservatory attached at front.
