Late 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, crowstepped, Scottish 17th century style farmhouse, extended to side and rear. Red ashlar sandstone and coursed rubble; harled to rear. Base and eaves courses. Some stop- chamfered arrises.
S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: pedimented and pilastered doorcase to centre with deep-set panelled timber door and plate glass fanlight, windows in flanking bays; 3 windows breaking eaves at 1st floor, that to centre segmentally-pedimented with thistle finial, outer bays with floreate-finialled triangular pediments.
E ELEVATION: gabled bay to left with full-height canted tripartite
window, centre bay with 2 window at ground and pedimented window breaking eaves at 1st floor; flat-roofed extension to right.
N ELEVATION: asymmetrical fenestration to flat-roofed extension and irregular M-gable behind with gablehead stacks.
W ELEVATION: gabled bay to right with flat-roofed extension at ground and small window to left at 1st floor; 2 windows in bay to left and further window close to eaves above.
Small-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates, fish-scale pattern to canted window (E). Coped ashlar stacks and ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.
BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: tall, flat-coped rubble boundary walls, curved at corner corniced and square-coped square-section ashlar gatepiers and decorate cast-iron gates.
The roofline suggests the land of John Kinross, then working at Falkland Palace.
