Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, piend-roofed former farmhouse with single storey projections to rear, Narrow squared and coursed rubble with random rubble to sides and rear, droved ashlar quoins and raised quoin strips. Base and eaves courses. Raised window margins to SW.

SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Broad, corniced and pedimented doorcase with flanking pilasters and deep-set, 2-leaf, part-glazed doors with letterbox fanlight at centre, windows in flanking bays and regular fenestration at 1st floor.

NW ELEVATION: window to left of centre at both floors, dominant shouldered wallhead stack at centre.

SE ELEVATION: window to right of centre at both floors and single storey office with 2 windows to outer right.

NE ELEVATION: advanced single storey offices with variety of elements to centre and left bays; stair window at centre above with adjacent small window to left; shouldered wallhead stack to outer left.

Lying 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows. Graded grey slates. Cavetto coped, shouldered ashlar stacks with cans.

INTERIOR: some plain cornicing to ground floor, working shutters, and winding staircase with decorative cast-iron balusters and timber handrail.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: coped rubble boundary walls. Coped, moulded ashlar gatepiers and cast-iron gates.
