Peddie and Kinnear, 1891. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay Italianate bank; rectangular-plan, near-symmetrical. Red sandstone ashlar with ashlar margins and dressings; base course; blocking course between ground, 1st floor; monogrammed consoles; string course; bracketted eaves cornice; balustraded parapet.
MAIN ELEVATION: 5-bay ground floor; porch at centre, part-fluted Ionic columns supporting balustrade; segmental-headed door, fanlight. Impost course rising as hoodmoulds over segmental-headed windows, broad segmental- headed door to outer left; keystone, monogrammed consoles supporting string course cornice. Window at centre at 1st floor, segmental shell pediment; flanking entablatured bipartites. Balustraded parapet punctuated by aediculed dormers.
Plate glass timber window at ground with segmental upper sash; plate glass timber sash and case windows at 1st floor; 4-pane sash and case windows. Grey slate mansard roof, with bronze flashing.
INTERIOR: modern banking hall.
Cast-iron rainwater goods with decorative rainwater heads.
