Dated 1922. Square plan, crenellated water powered turbine house on River Leven. Multicoloured brick with stone cills, keystones and coping. Round headed openings.
S ELEVATION: symmetrical. Wide 2 leaf boarded timber door with blocked semicircular fanlight at centre and windows in flanking bays. Corbelled and mutuled cornice below crenellated parapet with date stone at centre.
W ELEVATION: large openings for water inlets at ground to right of centre and off centre left, cornice and parapet as detailed above.
N ELEVATION: window to right and left of centre, cornice parapet as detailed above but with semicircular stone at centre and angle round
to left.
E ELEVATION: large window at centre with glazed occuli in flanking bays, cornice and parapet as detailed above.
Small pane glazing pattern over 2 and 3 light plate glass glazing.
INTERIOR: boarded timber roof over cast iron girders.
Current electricity production rate of approximately 1000KW per hour to be increased by heightening weir by 2? (1995). Owned by Norgen Hydro Power Ltd.
