Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay piend and platform-roofed house. Squared rubble with contrasting long and shortwork ashlar quoins. Eaves course.
S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical. 2 steps up to pilaster-flanked, corniced door, deep-set panelled timber door with small-pane fanlight, windows in flanking bays; regular windows at 1st floor close to eaves.
E ELEVATION: windows to right and left at both floors (that to left at 1st floor blinded), dominant wallhead stack at centre; slightly recessed projection to outer right with window at ground.
W ELEVATION: modern flat-roofed extension at ground with window to outer right and left above, dominant wallhead stack.
Plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Shouldered and corniced stacks with ashlar dressings and cans.
INTERIOR: inner hall with screen door part-glazed with etched wheatsheaf.
OUTBUILDING: lean-to rubble outbuilding adjoining boundary wall (possibly converted stable/gig house).
BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls and pyramidal-coped, square ashlar gatepiers with stop-chamfered arrises and decorative cast and wrought-iron pedestrian and vehicle gates.
Planning permission was sought, in 1969, to "alter premises from restaurant to form dwelling house".
