Date perhaps second quarter of 19th century. Villa of extremely unusual design, a centralised plan composed in a strictly symmetrical formula of interlocking hexagon shapes. An "ideal" design, influenced by French Enlightenment architects such as Boulee (1728-99) or Ledoux (1736-1806), whose work often used a similar, simple geometry.
Facades composed of splayed, canted bays; 2 storeys, ashlar-faced to south west front (remainder rubble, ashlar dressings), slate roofs, chimney flues (probably cut-down stacks) over internal angles. Centre hexagon is top-lit over the stair.
Original sash and case windows altered perhaps c.1900 (with multi-paned top sashes). Modern roller shutters fitted to ground floor openings. One angle infilled by low range; two modern extensions.
