Description

Ruin of E. end of long rectangular church; mediaeval walls, red
rubble, rich 1636 double bellcote with double pendant arches,
ogce top; several notable wall monuments, one 1580, 2 17th
century. Short section at E. end roofed. 10-head sculptured
stone (Earl and Countess of Buchan etc.) from Hospital of
Turriff inserted in E. gable; 1556 bell; 1797 clock brought
from Carnousie 1828.

Statement of Interest

The O.S.A. describes it as '120 feet by 18. The East end of it

including the quire Chancel and vestry bears some marks of

antiquity and was formerly divided from the rest of the building

by a row of ballisters.'
