Description

Later 18th century. Three-storey, five-bay classical town house on falling ground. Rubble with painted margins. Eaves band. Quoin strips.

North (St John Street) Elevation: at ground, pedimented and Tuscan columned doorpiece. Timber door with fanlight. Door flanked by two windows each side. Regular fenestration above and flanking.

Timber sash and case windows with 15-and-12-pane glazing. Grey slates. Stack on east gable with 10 cans.

Interior: not seen 1997.

Statement of Interest

Fine traditional well-preserved terraced classical town house.

Flats 35A and 35B are accessed via the pend opening in 37 St John Street (listed category C, ref: LB41463).
