Description

Late 19th/early 20th century. T-plan school with simplified late Victorian/Edwardian Baroque detailing (late addition (excluded from list) with mullioned and transomed windows adjoins to SW). Single storey; tall pedimented windows to main elevations with round key-stoned heads above main cornice. SE elevation to Queensberry Square: grey ashlar (remainder rubble-built); 3 bays, inner bay advanced with mullioned and transomed large window (other windows single lights): eaves course; main cornice carried across windows; steeply-pitched piended slate roof. 2-bay NE flank; lower rear wing with mostly square-headed mullioned windows; piended porch in re-entrant angle, segmental-arched door, also facing Queensberry Square, with straight parapet above.

Plain iron gates; rubble-built playground wall.

Statement of Interest

Empty (1984). Twin-gabled range adjoining to SW and detached range beside Church Road are both excluded from listing.
