Description

Completed 1828. 2-storey painted front with canted bays
through both floors, centre porch feature with proto-Doric
columns: rear stair tower. Slated roof.

Statement of Interest

Built as one of 3 early houses in Craigie Place. The original owner, Major General William Farquar, Engineer with the East India Company fell out with Raffles in Singapore soon after construction of the city began and returned home to Earlybank. It cost approximately ?800.
