Peddie and Kinnear, architects. 1875 3-storey and attic,
asymmetrical front. Gothic. Ashlar. Corner turret with
modern entrance at ground; transomed tripartites to 1st
and 2nd floors. Consoled pierced balcony to 1st floor.
Double string course above continued across whole building.
Cornice over 2nd floor. Conical slated roof. St Mirren
Street elevation. Centre block with 3 pointed arch windows
to ground floor and gabled door to left, irregularly
placed transomed windows above. 2 wallhead gables over 2nd
floor and corbelled stack with datestone at right. Slightly
advanced left bay with segmentally-arched windows and
steep mansard roof. 2-window gabled bay to High Street,
modern at ground. Slate roof with corniced stacks.
Part of redevelopment scheme for St Mirren Stret 1871-7.
