Description

John Honeyman, architect, 1871. 3-storey with attic corner
building with 8 bays to High Street, 4 at left set back,
quadrant corner bay and 2 bay elevation to Moss Street.
Ashlar channelled to ground floor with modern shop fronts
inserted. Cornice over ground floor except 4 western bays,
blocking course forms cill course to 1st floor windows
which are architraved and flanked by pilasters supporting
consoled alternate triangular and segmental pediments.
Cornice over 1st floor forms cill course of 2nd floor
windows, architraves lugged top and bottom. Cornice with
balustrade and dies, clock over quadrant; 4 western bays
have 3 pedimented dormers, outer pair bipartite middle
one with 2 chimneys disguised as acroteria. Slate roof
with corniced stacks.
