Description

Robert B Miller, architect, 1907-8 Free Renaissance.
4 storey and attic, 7 symmetrical bays with gabled and
centre bays, curved corner and 1 returned gabled bay at
north. Ashlar. Modern ground floor except for pink granite
columns on pedestals with semi-circular pediment to
central doorway. Mutuled cornice over ground floor. Upper
floors have channelled masonry between bays with pilasters
flanking end and centre bays and inset canted windows to
1st and 2nd floor with cill course. 3rd floor has
segmentally headed tripartites behind Ionic colonnettes.
Mutuled eaves cornice balustraded between shaped gables
with thermal windows. Left corner has canted windows to
1st and 2nd floor and female statue to 3rd. Leaded cupola
over. Returned north bay treated as end bays with door at
ground as at centre. Patterned glazed tiles to interior of
centre doorway.
