D H and F Reid engineers, Victoria Bridge Works, Ayr. Erected 22 June 1911. Cast and wrought iron suspension footbridge crossing River Cree in single span. Major structural repairs 1982 by Craich and Hogg, engineers; W & J Barr contractors. Slim lattice girder pylons support cables; arched sheet metal deck; lattice girder parapets.
Dedication panel read "22 June 1911. Erected by public subscription in commemoration of the coronation.... of King George V and Queen Mary".
