Late 18th to early 19th century. Low single storey, 4-bay double cottage, mirrored about centre. Rubble, squared for dressings. Doors to right of centre, flanked by former door to left blocked as window and with windows in outer bays. Sash and case windows with plate glass to number 5 and, 4-pane glazing to number 4.
Graded grey slates with clay ridge tiles. Gablehead stacks, stack to mutual gable painted. Single storey lean-to extension to rear.
Numbers 4 and 5 Church Street originally formed a symmetrical terrace with numbers 6 and 7. Number 7 has since absorbed number 6 and its wallhead has been raised above the formerly continuous eaves line. They are grouped effectively, set back from the road.
