Description

George Burn, Haddington, 1803/4. Three span bridge with dressed
stone arch rings, rubble spandrels and wing walls; oculi in
spandrels; dentilled string course. Segmental arches decrease in
span to the east.

Statement of Interest

Bridge replaces that of 1631 or 1632 which fell into the

river in 1794. Damaged in "great spate" of 1829; repaired

1829, 1868 and 1936.
