Description

1878, built by Musselburgh Heritages Company. 2 storeys
with attics symmetrical terrace of 13 houses, each with
single and bipartite windows 1st floor and door and bipartite
window ground floor, except at ends and houses flanking
centre, which have door and 3 light canted bays. Slate
roof with corniced stacks; snecked rubble with ashlar
dressings; bay window cornices continue as 1st floor band
course, raised window margins with long and short sides;
central 3 houses have doorpieces with broken pediments
containing ball finials. Other doors have lugged architraves
with outline of scrolled pediments. Houses flanking centre
have pedimented and pilastered Dutch gables with bipartite
attic windows. End houses have gables in form of open
pediments, containing roundel super-imposed by small
segmental pediments, flanking by narrow square piended
dormers; other houses have bipartite dormers, except centre
house which has pedimented 3 light dormers. Nos 3, 12 & 13
reglazed, but other dormers have 6-pane top sashes, single
pane lower. Other windows single pane sash. On rear
elevation each house has bracketted cast-iron maintenance
ladder from 1st floor to roof.
