In 1837 this was a bone and sawmill, producing bone manure with a capital of $10,000;4 times as large as that of the next largest company in Macduff. The range with the round-arched ?engine-house window may originally have had another purpose;possibly a flax spinning mill of cicra 1810 within the linen enterprises of the Robinsons of Banff.Themill later produced ground animal feed;hence the kiln.
