Description

Late 18th century. 3-storey, 3-bay house set back from the street. Rendered and painted. Raised margins, lintel and eaves courses.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: deep-set door to outer left with fine fanlit 8 panelled door and fluted architrave, 2 windows to right. Regular fenestration to 1st and 2nd floors.

INTERIOR: central stairhall with curving stair. Principal rooms at ground and 1st floor with Adam-style chimneypiece with marine theme motifs, panelled dado to 1st floor room.

REAR: rubble walled long rig garden.

4-pane sash and case windows at ground, plate glass above. Grey slate roof, ashlar coped skews, stacks to gables.

RAILINGS: fronted by a small garden to High Street enclosed by modern (1990) iron arrowhead railings.

Statement of Interest

Similar door, fanlight and architrave to Lindisfarne, Union Road and 8-9 and 10, 11 Royal Terrace.
