Description

1884. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan villa. Cream sandstone rubble, snecked and squared to N elevation with droved ashlar dressings. Base, string course, cill course at 1st floor, cornice, chamfered reveals, ogeed detail to lintels of principal windows, stone mullions to paired windows, bargeboard.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: gabled bay to left; fanlit panlled door to centre with canopy roof supported on timber brackets, extending as lean-to roof over advanced squared and paired window to left with moulded stop chamfered angles. Window at 1st floor with bargeboarded and finialled gable with date panel '1884' to gablehead. Small paired windows to right above entrance. Paired window at ground to outer right with semi-circular pedimented window breaking eaves with apron and finial at 1st floor.

E AND W (SIDE) ELEVATIONS: gabled with plain bargeboard, window at 1st floor to E elevation.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: 3 bays; semi-circular dormerheaded window to left. Single storey projecting wing with door on left return.

2-pane lower sashes, multi-pane upper in sash and case windows. Grey slate roof, red ridge tiles, corniced and coped sandstone end stacks, tall wallhead stack to rear.
