W Scott 1913. 2-storey, 5-bay rectangular-plan with single storey service wing, Scottish Arts and Crafts style house. Harled with sotne dressings. Corbelled string at 1st floor, eaves course, bipartite and tripartite windows, stone curvilinear dormerhead windows, deep eaves.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 5-bay; centre 3-bay with doorcase to right, stone surruond, 2-leaf wooden doors, raised moulded panel over with lion rampant, dentilled cill to dormerheaded window over. Bipartite window to left of dooir, window far left. Dormerheaded windows to each bay above. Advanced gabled bay to outer right, bow at ground with 3 windows, cill course, deep blocking course, shield motif to centre, tripartite window to 1st floor, thistle finial. Circular corner tower to outer left, 3 windows at ground and 1st floor, cill and eaves courses, corbelled string course, bellcast roof with overhanging eaves.
N (SIDE) ELEVATION: window at ground to right, bipartite window at 1st floor to left, chimney wall advanced and on a diagonal line across gable wall, stack at wallhead.
E (REAR) ELEVATION: 3-bay; 2 single lights to centre and off-centre to right, bipartite window to far right; tripartite stair window to centre, tripartite window to right, single light to left. Tall stack to left with advanced chimney wall, off-set to right. Piended roof to outer bays, canted dormer over centre bay.
S (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2-bay, advanced squared single storey inglenook bay, piended roof, advanced off-set chimney wall, tall stack. Canted single storey window to right, tripartire window over.
Plate glass sash and case windows, stained glass to stair and inglenook windows. Grey/green slate roof, tall harled stacks. Ashlar apex detail to gabled bays and bold beak skewputts.
SERVICE WING:
N ELEVATION: 5-bay, windows to 4-bays to right, larger window 2nd bay from right, door to outer bay to left.
E ELEVATION: bipartite window.
S ELEVATION: 5-bay, door to outer left and 2nd bay from right.
Piended slate roof, harled stack, rooflights off-centre right and left.
INTERIOR: timber stair (half-turn with landings); original timber chimneypieces with overmantel, inglenook recess with overmantel flanked by small windows with stained glass panels.
A severe design evidently evolved from the school of Lorimer but without his softening craftsmanship.
